MINUTES OF THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING HELD ON JULY 4th 2006 AT HENFIELD C.C

Present:

Norman Teague, Laurie Claydon, Richard Prokopowicz, Nic Nolan plus representatives of Henfield, Rustington, Portslade, Crawley Eagles, Barns Green and Eastergate. 

Apologies for absence were received from Paul Tolchard and Goring CC. Crawley sent no apologies. 

The minutes of the meeting held on June 6th were approved and signed by Norman Teague.  

Matters arising Crawley Eagles asked if the letter regarding Graham Dean had been sent to Ifield from the previous meeting. Nic Nolan stated that it had been.

 

Correspondence:

Letter received from Selsey CC regarding their second eleven fixture versus Aldwick on 17th June 2006. An allegation had been made against Aldwick captain Dave Robinson showing dissent towards an umpiring decision. Dave Robinson admitted the allegation but cited certain factors. The outcome from the executive committee was to suspend him for two matches, this is over and above the ban imposed by Aldwick also. Cancelled fixtures do not count towards the suspension which is to begin from July 15th 2006. 

Competition’s Secretary’s report:

Laurie reported that two matches had been scratched. He also reminded clubs with regards to changing of match dates the rule of players allowed to play on the rearranged dates. Southwick seconds have scratched two matches this season. A fine will be imposed. Laurie also mentioned Crawley seconds who took three weeks to send in a result form despite being asked three times. A fine will be imposed. 

Treasurer’s report:

Richard stated that we are in a healthy position. We have £3243 in hand with more fines to add.

 

Press Secretary report:

Paul had nothing to report. 

 

Any Other Business:

Annual Dinner: the committee wished to invite Peter Graves to the league dinner. Nic Nolan stated that Mike Wilkinson from Clymping CC had been in contact with the same view and he is to contact Peter Graves. 

Vacancies for President and Vice-Chairmen: there were none forthcoming.  

Any Other Business: Norman Teague read out the letter which he had sent to the Sussex County League regarding the feeder system stating that we as the league felt it was delaying tactic. 

Amendment to handbook: Eastergate CC contact number for Tom Cole should be 01243 585999.

 

The meeting began at 8pm and finished at 8.17pm. The next meeting is of the Executive Committee to be held on August 1st 2006 at Henfield CC at 8pm.
