Sunday Cup Summary 2004
Don Semmons, who had organised a double-wicket tournament for ten seasons from 1981 to 1990, set up a Sunday Cup competition (40 overs a side) involving 24 clubs in six groups eight of whom emerged for the knock out stage. There were a number of scratched games and two disputes culminating in Pagham seeking a decision from the ECB over a group match cancelled at East Preston and Crawley Eagles forfeiting a quarter final to Arundel.
The final was played at the County Ground on August Bank Holiday:
Ifield (206-3, Nuwan Fernando 98) beating Arundel (91-10) by 115 runs.
